It's no coincidence that the design team of Bob Surgeoner and Paul Ryder have had long and varied experience of working in the music industry. Bob has played electric and acoustic guitar, double bass, piano etc., in many different musical genres, from the late 1960s until the present day.
Both are passionate about the experience of live music and it is this passion which drives the company's enthusiasm for recreating that experience with recorded music. Neat's aim is to transfer all of the drama and excitement of live music into the listener's home.
The development of a NEAT loudspeaker invariably involves hundreds of hours of listening tests. The Neat listening room is the starting point, though a new design must prove its worth in a variety of different rooms and systems before it is signed off for production. Here the designers can be found making small incremental changes to all elements of the design until it is 'just right'.
Some loudspeaker manufacturers are quite content to choose 'off the shelf’ drive units for their designs, many of which can be readily obtained from D-I-Y suppliers.
The majority of the drive units and crossover parts used in Neat’s loudspeakers, however, are custom-made to our own specifications. READ MORE....
The Perspective brings a large measure of the Pearl3 sound in a very compact and easy to place enclosure. With its only sonic rival its bigger brother, the Perspective easily stands out. In the slender Perspective contains an amalgam of the finest qualities that a mini monitor has to offer coupled with the power and impact that only a floor standing design can deliver. The magnesium woofers and Sonatex Hexadyn tweeter are precisely matched as is only possible with our proprietary crossover technique.
The acoustic design of the cabinet is very complex and rigid, with multiple bracing to keep the box as silent as possible. This structural rigidity translates into clarity and focus of the highest order. The seamless Asymmetrical Infinite Slope crossover gives the Perspective a unique sense of coherence. The sound retains the same character from top to bottom, greatly contributing to the overall realism of the listening experience. The special magnesium cone woofers are tuned to tautly extend the low frequency response for bass that can be heard and distinctly felt. READ MORE....
Triform Ear cups are specially designed for a superior seal over your ears improving bass response over other designs. The Triform Contour also reduces internal standing waves and reflections for reduced distortion. The headband flare over the Alpha Triform Contour Earcups make ADL Headphones supremely comfortable, an observation everyone makes before suddenly captured by the sound and falling silent.
Furutech Pure Transmission technical tidbits abound; high noise attenuation, 40mm high-resolution extra large high flux α (Alpha Cryo treated) magnet drivers, a ring engineered to keep ultra-high frequencies in coherent phase and excellent transient response from extremely light-weight coils made with copper-coated special aluminum alloy wire. Grado Labs is a Brooklyn based company that hand makes headphones and cartridges. Family run since 1953, Grado has seen three generations: Joseph, John, and Jonathan Grado.
The new 'e' Prestige Series is the third generation of our moderately priced collection of headphones. You could pay three times as much for a pair of imports that can't match the sonic purity emanating from our family owned shop, where we still build headphones by hand in Brooklyn USA.
The Mahogany wood now undergoes a new proprietary curing process that enhances its natural tone properties. Wood, being a product of nature, is subject to variations in density and other properties. Our curing process ensures consistency of the signature Grado sound. Rhodium, the most expensive precious metal on earth, is employed in The e Series headphones to prevent corrosion on connectors, and unwanted graininess in your music. Our new driver cone geometry tracks frequencies with unequaled precision, and the coil has been fine-tuned for symmetry throughout the full range. One thing we didn't change is the traditional appearance that Grado fans cherish. The open-back form factor of our headphones produces a cleaner, more authentic sonic experience., READ MORE....
After years of research and development, Acoustic Zen has developed the world's lowest distortion and most musically coherent loudspeakers! Through innovative design, superior component and cabling selection, solid construction and careful, precise hand assembly, the Acoustic Zen Adagio loudspeakers deliver music without compromise.
The Adagio Junior stand-mounted loudspeakeris a rear ported two-way speaker system featuring the same 1.5 inch circular ribbon tweeter and dual 6.5 inch midrange/woofer drivers found on the the critically acclaimed Adagio tower speakers. The Adagio Junior is extremely versatile due to its smaller size, but it still delivers the same full-range, low-distortion, accurate sound as the Adagio. For these reasons it is particularly well-suited for a stereo reference system, but it can also excel as surround-sound and center-channel speakers.
The Adagio floorstanding loudspeaker is a two-way transmission-line system featuring a 1.5 inch circular ribbon tweeter and dual 6.5 inch midrange/woofer "underhung" voice coil, ceramic-coated drivers. The three drivers are configured in a time and phase aligned D'Appolito MTM arrangement providing lifelike imaging over a large sweet spot range. The Adagio features superior cabinet construction and aesthetic contours that actually reduce cabinet diffractions.
Following the success of the Adagio and Adagio Junior loudspeakers, Acoustic Zen Technologies set forth to create another ground-breaking loudspeaker design based on our no compromise philosophy.
The Crescendo loudspeaker is a three-way full range loudspeaker built on the same component, cabling and cabinet quality of the Adagios. It incorporates two 5 inch midrange drivers, two 8" woofers and one horn-loaded ribbon tweeter all in a transmission line design. Like the Adagios, the upper half of the Crescendo is a D'Apolito MTM configuration, featuring two 5 inch midrange "underhung" voice coil ceramic-coated drivers around a 2 inch horn-loaded ribbon tweeter. In addition, the bottom of the Crescendo tower features two 8 inch "underhung" voice coil ceramic-coated woofers.
Now in its second generation, the Crescendo Mark II features drivers with larger magnet assemblies for even higher linearity and heavier and reinforced cabinets for even lower resonance and overall lower distortion. The resulting sound is remarkably clear, full, accurate and lifelike. READ MORE....
Verity Audio has been designing and building some of the world’s finest crafted and most musically involving loudspeakers for nearly 20 years. Located in Quebec, Canada, co-founders Julien Pelchat and Bruno Bouchand have incorporated their love of music in the pursuit of ultimate loudspeaker perfection and simplicity. “Simplicity” has meant being critical of the objectives, design, construction, and performance factors that really matter while understanding how to best balance every element of the production process and finished design. In fact, achieving simplicity is inherently complex but that achievement ultimately offers rewarding results. Offering pure and genuine quality in this manner has always been fundamental to Verity.
All Verity Audio loudspeakers share a common trait, which is exceptional “Synergy”. It means that the overall interaction and union of every component produces a combined effect superior than the sum of their separate effects. Using only the best quality components isn’t enough to achieve the level of refinement and performance you will get with a Verity Audio loudspeaker.
Skilled and talented craftsman assemble each and every Verity Audio loudspeaker. They highly value their workmanship by ensuring that every loudspeaker is reliably and beautifully built. Quality control starts at the cabinetmaker and follows the evolution of each product throughout the manufacturing process. Each manufactured product goes to our listening room to be measured and auditioned. Only then, they are approved as a finished Verity Audio loudspeaker. Our high quality and reliability standards require that all involved be masters of loudspeaker engineering, craftsmanship, and music evaluation. Above and beyond these criteria, Verity Audio imposes additional requirements. All Verity Audio personnel are intrinsically motivated to strive for superior achievements in every aspect of the design and manufacturing process. Verity Audio technicians make it a “point of honor” to never let even the smallest inconsistency go. This results in a loudspeaker that not only delivers a high level of initial customer satisfaction, but also maintains that satisfaction for years to come. READ MORE....
The Bryston Middle T Loudspeaker was built to be exceptionally high quality and affordable, while bringing superior design to the table. New driver designs, enclosure vibration analysis, crossover refinement, and anechoic chamber testing all went into creating an amazing product.
A “state of the art” audio system involves what some refer to as a “suspension of disbelief”. This means the playback system transcends the recorded medium and transports you to a live venue. You forget it’s a recording and believe you are there at the live performance. Our goal with the Bryston Middle T Loudspeaker is to provide our customers with a superior level of “disbelief”. The Siena is a floor-standing system with a strong personality that perfectly illustrates RF's innate ability to match elegance and performance. Its unmistakable lines are completed by one of the most sophisticated cabinets ever produced in the field of high-end loudspeakers, which allow the Siena to deliver excellent sound with optimal integration into any living room. The aluminium cone woofers and paper cone midranges are held in place by means of a vibration-damping system that minimizes transmission of vibration energy to the baffle. The multi-faceted trapezoidal top cabinet is designed to reduce internal standing waves and thereby minimize sound colorations. The entire loudspeaker cabinet is made of high density fiberboard (HDF), which is internally enhanced by a layer of advanced acoustic damping material. The front panels are made of 10mm thick cnc machined aluminium. This blend of mechanically different materials together with a comprehensive asymmetrical bracing architecture allows the drivers to operate with utmost clarity and dynamics, drastically reducing panel resonances. Finally, the front panel is designed to house a super tweeter which is dedicated to the reproduction of the ultrasonic frequencies (up to 100kHz).Indeed, this driver further enhances the "atmosphere" and naturalness of the reproduced sound. Today, the availability of a highly extended frequency response as found in the Siena is even more interesting, with the advent of new digitalformats alongside vinyl and compact disc.
The Volterra is one of RF's cornerstones on the way to reproducing reality.Sharing much of the technology of its smaller sibling the Fiesole, the elegant, 2.5-way compact floor standing Volterra has an even more authoritative and refined acoustic presence, thanks also to an original acoustic loading design which can be described as a hybrid vented mid-woofer + closed box woofer. The 6-1/2" and 8" Nomex woofers are held in place by means of a vibration-damping system. This feature allows an efficient control of structure-borne vibration, resulting in commanding, sharp and controlled low frequencies. The 28mm hand treated silk dome tweeter has a highly controlled and damped behaviour within its band with, providing a sweet, natural and accurate sonic signature. This component is easily combined with the woofers through the use of a complex and efficient crossover circuit made of meticulously selected components and placed in an isolated and well-damped box at the center of the system structure. The beautifully finished brushed aluminium front panels add mass and great rigidity to the structure and are also designed to house an ultrasonic generator which is dedicated to the reproduction of the ultrasonic frequencies beginning to function at around 22kHz and goes up to 100kHz. This driver further enhances the "atmosphere" and naturalness of the reproduced sound. Today, the availability of a highly extended frequency response as found in the Volterra is even more interesting, with the advent of new high-resolution digital formats alongside vinyl. The Pearl 3 are Housed in separate enclosures and linked by solid brass points, the Pearl's tweeter and midrange are isolated from the dual woofers below. The input posts are the Patented Cardas vise-type design (CE approved) for maximum contact. The aluminum cone woofers were custom created with additional magnet mass, and copper pole piece for the cleanest possible bass reproduction. The zinc alloy cast frame has extreme rigidity and narrow fingers to minimize any internal reflections.
A field array of tiny yet powerful magnets are spaced around the edge of the tweeter's voice coil, allowing the area behind the dome to remain clear of any reflective materials.
To hear the Pearl3's is to experience your favorite recorded music anew. You can relax and forget about the usual artifacts that cloud the sound and render it an artificial imitation. The Pearl3 propels you back in time to experience performance nuances and musical magic that lesser systems gloss over. READ MORE....
